Overview

Navigating ESG in Real Estate:
Towards Climate-Positive and Sustainable Strategies

Why is ESG important in the real estate industry, and what do terms like Grey Energy, EU Social Taxonomy, Green Governance, or Carbon Accounting mean? These topics are highly relevant and current for everyone involved in the value chain, from project development to management. The real estate sector plays a significant role in contributing to approximately 30% of Germany's CO2 emissions. As a result, implementing a climate strategy has become an essential component of every real estate strategy. Sustainability has emerged as a central focus in the real estate industry. While complex decisions are being made in Brussels regarding the "Green Deal," the industry is actively addressing the practical implications of "Environmental, Social, Governance" (ESG) in their daily practices. Therefore, this topic holds immense relevance and timeliness for all involved, from project development to facility management. How can we pave the way towards climate-positive and sustainable real estate?
