The legal principles for data protection can be found in the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and in the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Access data / server log files

The service provider (or its web space provider) collects data about any access to the site (server log files). The access data includes:

Name of the retrieved web page, file, data and time of retrieval, data quantity transferred, notification about successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the page visited previously), IP address and the requesting provider.

The provider will only use the log data for statistical evaluations for the purposes of the operation, security and improvement of the services offered. However, the provider reserves the right to review log data subsequently if there are specific clues to warrant the suspicion of unlawful use.

Dealing with personal data

Personal data is information which can be used to identify a person, i.e. details which can be traced back to a person. This personal data includes the name, e-mail address or phone number, as well as data about preferences, hobbies, memberships or the websites viewed by that person.

Personal data is only collected, used and shared by the provider if this is permitted by law, or if the users give their permission for the data to be collected.

Establishing contact

When contact is established with the provider (for instance, using the contact form or e-mail), the user's details will be saved for the purposes of processing the request or in the event of there being follow-up queries.

Newsletter

We will keep you informed about us and about the services we offer through the newsletter.

If you wish to receive the newsletter, we will require a valid e-mail address from you, as well as information which will enable us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address indicated or that the owner of that address is in agreement with receipt of the newsletter. Further data will not be collected. This data will only be used for circulating newsletters and will not be shared with third parties.

When you register to receive the newsletter, we will save your IP address and the date of registration. Saving these details alone will serve as evidence that a third party has misused an e-mail address and has registered to receive the newsletter without the knowledge of the authorised person.

You may cancel your permission for the data and e-mail address to be saved, as well as for it to be used for the circulation of the newsletter at any time. This cancellation may be actioned via a link in the actual newsletters, in your profile or by notifying the contacts above.

Integration of 3th-party service

Third-party content may be integrated within this online service, such as YouTube videos, Google maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (referred to below as "third-party providers") take note of the IP addresses of users. Without the IP address, they would be unable to send the content to the user's browser. Consequently, the IP address is necessary for viewing this content. We will endeavour only to use content from providers which only use IP addresses for the delivery of content. However, if third-party providers save the IP address for statistical purposes, for instance, this will be beyond our control. If we are aware of this, we will advise users accordingly.
